One in a Million Award recipient: Dryden Vance

Where he’s multiplying good: Rochester, Indiana

How he’s multiplying good: He is One in a Million. Dryden was a sophomore in high school when Covid shut down the small, rural high school he attends. As he lives in a small community and knows many of those who work in the hospital, law enforcement and other first responders, he immediately grew concerned when he heard that PPE supplies were in short supply and our community was in desperate need. He took the school's mission statement: "Inspiring individuals to learn, grow and give" and put his knowledge to work. Literally working around the clock, this sophomore utilized our school's 3-D printing machines and built shields for all those in our county in need. While doing this, he continued his school work and carried a 4.138 GPA on a 4.00 scale. His shields not only supplies first responders, he also donated to local nursing homes and other essential businesses. In a day when people look at our teenage generation and worry; I am one who sees this hard working individual and feels excited and blessed about our future!
